I find this quote quite amusing:

i misinterpreted your quote at first. i thought that was the nerds response to the situation, but he didn't realise how hugely famous his attacker was [i thought the second 'i' in the second parenthesis was 'it']. but that doesn't make a lot of sense - it'd be more like "I was pretty down this morning because of the situation," Nerdlinger said. "But when I found out it was Stephen Hawking, it kind of brought a little light to the day."

It's such a weird thing to say though - it's like, "Yeah, well, at first a felt a little remorse for what beating the living shit out of some guy, but then I found out I'd be getting paid to play sport, and now I don't give a fuck."

He's got a point though - if I found out I was getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to run up and down a fucking bit of grass - well, I'd be a bit fucked, cause I'm not really so good at running for the tram - but I'd be pretty fucking happy.
