Various people...or maybe just Jack Cambrian...will no doubt remember the pictures on the old board of Holly Valance in the Dead or Alive movie.
Now see moving pictures!

I resent that statement. I say that as the only gook in Australia that prefers MK over any Jap fighting game (with Playboy, I'm faily indifferent). |

Personally, I'm putting myself out there as a bit of a fan of Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, mostly because I'm crap at fighting games, but also because it makes me giggle.
That said, mad cans or not, the Dead or Alive movie does look like it could make me cry blood, and not even in that good Mexican statue of Jesus kinda way. |

Man, you sure know how to make me happy.
Rove crying blood; that's really brightened my day. |

I must admit my dislike of fighting games in general, or, not so much fighting games, as the fuckwits that play them obsessively.
I swear, there's more of a jock culture among Tekken fans than there is in most sporting clubs.
Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Gamecube is the one exception to this. I love this game from the bottom of my heart, and am even considering buying the next generation Nintendo console solely for the next installment (that and Mario... as long as it's better than Mario Sunshine). |

I hate Tekken. I had Tekken 4 for PlayStation and it was just a button masher. If there's any degree of skill in there, I failed to find it.
Smash Bros. and Mario both have Spring release dates for the Wii. There should be some more news after the Nintendo pre-E3 press conference in about 12 hours. |

Most fighting games seem to be button mashers, even I admit that. _________________ Church of the Fonze - Heeeeeyy! |

yeah, yeah fighting games are boring and the guys [and you can be sure that it's solely guys that are playing them] that play them are fucktards. no shit.

this statement, however, shocks me. you didn't like sunshine?? i thought this was a wicked game. the little puzzle/challenge levels were especially my forte. oh well, no accounting for tastes. |

And now we've got Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl to look forward to.
I never played Sunshine, but I might pick up a copy, seeing as the Wii is backwards compatible with the GameCube. |

Ok, well, I did like Mario Sunshine...
But it wasn't the spectacular mind-blowingly original masterpiece that was Mario 64; or even Mario 3 or the original one for that matter.
The FLUD (or whatever it was called) was cool, and it did give you a lot of versatility, but I didn't feel the same freedom that I did with Mario 64.
You know the feeling you get when you've been playing Mario 64 for a while... You see rotating, rising, falling, disappearing, slippery platforms in a pitch black room and scoff, because you know that in a heartbeat you can dive, skip, wall jump and dash your way from any point in the map to any other point in the map with the grace of a thousand gazelles.
Also, running around and cleaning up pollution in a game just isn't as fun as it is in the real world. Also, all he's doing is washing it into the gutter! I think what we need next time is a challenge to get a planning permit for a cost effective sewage treatment plant. Lobby Mario, Lobby! |

| i never played mario 64 - but i did play a lot of mario 3 on the nes. that is unquestionably the greatest video game ever made. playing mario 3 is like improvising on a beautiful fictional musical instrument. once i was at home by myself when i was living in carlton, playing mario 3, listening to estradasphere, drinking stones and i thought to myself 'this is the greatest. it's just can't get any better than this,'. |

Can you guys please write me a Mario retrospective?
Those were some of the best metaphors ever. |
