Well, yes, I suppose I do, now that you mention it. I didn't realise it was 40 years, though.
Oh, you know a remix will be coming, Jack...
...And we'll all be able to roll on the floor covered in our own vomit, gurgling as we hear 'Wouldn't It Be Nice' being raped by some tard who didn't even listen to the album, but actually heard the song on the Cadbury add... Maybe I'm being cynical again, but hey, I have little faith in remixes. And I like to rant... a lot. _________________ EATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDING |

You equate remixes and covers on par with 'Crimes against Humanity'. Or if you were religious 'The work of the Devil' (or God, I don't know how it works with you). _________________ Church of the Fonze - Heeeeeyy! |

I want to know how to get into making remixes.
It is a great business how you butcher a once great song, put a dance track over it or replace the good vocals with your shitty ones and then SAFM and half the clubs in town play it all the time.
Not too mention the kids to young to know the original or just plain morons that flock to but the CD.
I guess you lose a fair chunk of your soul each remix though. _________________ Nuts and Gum together at last! |

Yeah, pretty much... generally it's because I think the majority of remixes miss the point of why the song was written and just leech the life out of the original song. That, or I get riled by the thought of some cash-in hack sitting at their computer making a Reason loop to slap along with the original and call it a 'remix'.
Note that it's mainly just the mainstream shite that is clearly produced to make money and have NO FUCKING BENEFIT to music in general that I have a gripe with. As long as I don't HEAR a crap remix all the time, I don't really care. Conversely, if I hear a good remix, I'll applaud and move on (for some reason remixes don't really hold my attention a lot... except a lot of the stuff on OCRemix).
Hmm, I'm getting riled up, now. Perhaps I should go buy a baseball bat today and go to Jamster HQ and complete my Holy Crusade... It'll be sweet, storming through security and braining whoever came up with that fucking frog and screaming, 'God wills at!' at the top of my lungs as I gleefully swing my instrument of retribution. _________________ EATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDINGEATTHEPUDDING |

That frog was originally called the the 'Annoying Thing' or some shite. It was created by an animator that found an mp3 online of a guy making that strange noise. He contacted the guy and asked if he could use it for a animation project.
Hence, the first sign of the Apocalypse!
I've got the original vid sitting around somewhere, next to my Satanic Verses and vat of infant blood. _________________ Church of the Fonze - Heeeeeyy! |

I believe Mr Cambrian was referring to the Hippocamp label's "Hippocamp Ruins The Pet Sounds" CD, which I'm rather a fan of, on the whole.
Still, each to their own.
You fucking elitist cunt... |

And I was referring to Ax Man's crusade on the bastards that unleashed the 'Crazy Frog' onto the world.
And what did you call me? _________________ Church of the Fonze - Heeeeeyy! |

yeah, i guess you'd have to be an elitist cunt to not appreciate electro-mutialted versions of songs which - let's face it, are not all that condusive to a remix treatment. i am currently employed at a techno record shop and if any of you think you hate bad remixes try working in an environment where that is ALL you hear.
my boss - "hey rohan, how awesome is this remixed version of 'owner of a lonely heart'?"
me - [thinks]it sucks dick[/thinks] "uh...."
my boss - "check out the reverb on the snare,"
me - [thinks] could the apocalypse possibly come soon enough?[/thinks] |

All that's good, all that's right;
Everything hot, all that's tight;
Women, men, pubescent girls,
Never again to finger their curls
On their heads so exquisite -
Never again to visit
The palace, the palace of love.
Forty years of livin' - then death,
That's all that's left;
Forty years - then death.
Forty years - all that's left.
The work, it is just beginin'
As my hair, it begins thinin';
Pleasure is past, the end
Of all that's dear, as friend
And foe alike disappear -
Never again to visit
The palace, the palace of love.
Perfume! The smell of perfume
Is forgotten, and the shape of the room
And the sheets on her bed
Disappear forever from my head.
No more the sudden thrill
As I dip into the swill -
Never again to visit
The palace, the palace of love. |
