Sick of using your DS simply for playing games? Why not order a kit from the boys at DSRobot.com to make a 2 wheeled robot out of it? Their prototype also has 6 flashing LEDS!
According to the site, buying a robot kit from them has the following advantages:
- 20 Digital Input/Output for multipurpose use.
- Customizable with you own Motors and Sensors
- Wireless programming and controling.
- Programmable in C or C++ with devkitpro and a custom library to manage the signals.
- You can use PAlib (very easy NDS library to program you first DSRobot)
- Upgradable Software & Hardware.
- www.dsrobot.com will offer you kits for update your DSRobot.
Full marks all around for those. I especially like the fact that you will recieve updates from them - that’s some nice customer service, right there. But here’s the biggest advantage: “You can use your DSRobot with NinjaDS to make the robot works alone”.
To be quite honest, I have no idea what that means, but it does sound rather good. Autonomous Ninja DS Robot? Goddamn! Sign me up!
This could be a good use for everyone in the US who managed to annoy the hell out of Nintendo yesterday by purchasing DSes ten days prior to the street date. Full marks to those people, also. I picked one up with the full blessing of Nintendo here in Australia and by God it’s white and shiny and all kinds of good.
Estimated sales on the first day by the guy with the fuzzy neck beard at EB Games in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall?
“10 or 15 or so”. Huge.
