One piece of news that seems to have slipped the mind of most media outlets is the announcement at Leipzig of the PS3’s European (and presumably Australian) slogan: “This is Living”. Kikizo seem to be the first to even mention it, lamenting “despite some 150,000 consumers and 2,000 journalists being present at the event, the first evidence of the slick branding seems to be on this very page”. Cleary, Sony need to work on their press conferences - I mean, all I remember from their E3 conference is “something, something, giant enemy crab, something, weak spot for massive damage, something, something, Ridge Racer, something, US$599, something, new controller they forgot to tell developers”.
I don’t think I like this slogan, either. The font is completely the wrong image for their 1000 Australian dollar console - it looks like Sunbeam’s logo from the 50s. I’m pretty sick of that whole Spider-Man font for the PS3 logo too.
It’s all just a bit strange: who is Sony targetting this at?
