So, I guess everyone’s wondering just what I’ve been up to over the weekend to have not posted, especially given the uproar regarding the supposed cancelation of E3. I’ve been locked in a dark room in front of a computer, working on this bitch. If you got asked by an editor to compile every single rumour regarding the Wii, would you?
I did.
I learnt many things along the way, the most important of which was “don’t open 176 tabs in Firefox”. Next time, I must remember to stagger my research a little more. The article’s for Gameworld Network, and the first part is up now. I wasn’t aware that it was going to be published in such a method, but I probably should have expected something along those lines when I sent them 7,000 words on the subject.
Yes, it really is that exhaustive.
Here’s a fun game to play while reading it - try and pick the bits that were written by an editor. Here’s a hint: I didn’t have anything to do with the pictures.
Oh - here’s another fun game - try and figure out why I haven’t been credited with writing the piece. Anyone who figures that one out should email me immediately.
Finally, as for E3’s “retooling” as a smaller, industry event: whatever. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the fact that any blogger or EB Games employee can get in. There should be a questionaire handed out to people who apply for passes to the next one:
Do you get paid to produce or write about games? No? Then fuck off.
