Thank God for that, eh? I’m sure readers will excuse my slipping into slight fanboy mode for just a second to reveal that I was genuinely a bit worried that we wouldn’t see the Wii in European/Australian territories thanks to Sony’s recent dropping of the ball. Not because I’m particularly interested in seeing Nintendo capitalise on Sony’s mistake - though it will certainly make things interesting to watch over the Christmas period - I just really want one.
The announcement comes via GoNintendo, who have been told by their Nintendo PR rep that the “Wii is on track to ship in Q4″, and Nintendo still plans to ship “6 million systems to retailers around the world between its launch in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the end of its fiscal year on March 31, 2007″. I guess we’ve only got a few days to wait before we actually know when that date is, now.
